The Turkmen weightlifter won the bronze medal of the Asian Championship


Turkmen weightlifter Anamjan Rustamova won a bronze medal at the Asian Championship, which is being held in Jinju (Republic of Korea).
The weightlifter was awarded a bronze medal in the snatch in the weight category up to 87 kg. At the end of the first exercise, she became the third (102 kg), losing to Uzbek weightlifter Regina Adashbaeva (103 kg) and Lo Ying-Yuan (110 kg) from Chinese Taipei.
However, in the clean and jerk, the Turkmen athlete showed the fifth result (124 kg), taking the final fifth place (226 kg).
The Asian Weightlifting Championship, which started on May 5, gathered about 400 athletes from 37 countries of the world. It should be noted that 16 weightlifters (9 men and 7 women) represent the Turkmen side at the tournament.
The Continental Championship is a qualifying tournament on the eve of the Olympic Games — 2024. The championship will end on May 13.
