The Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan has announced the launch of the campaign for early presidential elections, which are scheduled for July 9.

According to the deputy head of the CEC of the country, Bahrom Kuchkarov, parties must apply for registration of their authorized representatives by May 13 and submit documents for participation in the elections by May 15.

From May 17 to June 1, it is planned to nominate candidates by parties. In turn, the documents on the registration of candidates must be submitted to the CEC by June 2. Registration is due to end on June 6.

Only political parties have the right to nominate a presidential candidate. There are five registered in Uzbekistan.
