President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated compatriots on Victory Day
The head of Turkmenistan congratulated war veterans and all compatriots on the 78th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
“Remaining true to the principles of honor, our brave compatriots, shoulder to shoulder with representatives of fraternal peoples, showed unparalleled valor, steadfastness and true heroism on the fields of the most fierce battle of the 20th century in the name of a peaceful and free life. Eternal glory to them! In this harsh time, the elderly, women, girls, children - in a word, those who remained in the rear did everything for the front, everything for the Victory. With unshakable faith and bright hopes for the onset of a peaceful and quiet life, unbending will, selfless work day and night, they brought this great day closer, the President's message says.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov recalled that at that cruel and difficult time, Turkmen women voluntarily donated 7,392 kilograms of gold and silver jewelry to the Defense Fund.
“We will never forget the feat of arms and life, the exceptional heroism of our valiant compatriots who selflessly fought and worked tirelessly during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. Their courage and fortitude is a wonderful example for all of us of sincere service and loyalty to their Fatherland, people and all mankind,” the head of state stressed.
