Could be the first: Turkmen weightlifter won a bronze medal at the Asian Championship

Turkmen weightlifter Bunyad Rashidov won a bronze medal at the Asian Championship, which takes place in Jinju (South Korea).
Rashidov won a bronze medal in the snatch in the weight category up to 67 kg. At the end of the first exercise, the Turkmen weightlifter became the third (140 kg), losing to the Indian athlete Jeremy Lalrinnung (141 kg) and Yueji (147 kg) from China.
However, in the clean and jerk, Bunyad showed the fifth result (162 kg), taking the final fifth place (302 kg).
― I am satisfied with the bronze medal, but I feel that I would raise even more. At the training camp in Georgia, where we had a thirty-day training camp before flying to South Korea, I reached the results of 170 kg in the clean and jerk and 150 kg in the snatch. If I pushed today in much the same way, I could become the first. At the upcoming tournaments, I will try to improve my performance and show a result that will bring a gold medal, - Bunyad Rashidov told ORIENT.
The Asian Weightlifting Championship, which started on May 5, brought together about 400 athletes from 37 countries of the world.
The Turkmen side is represented by 16 weightlifters (9 men and 7 women).
The continental championship is a qualifying tournament on the eve of the Olympic Games - 2024. The tournament will end on May 13.
