King Charles III of Great Britain is crowned

In Westminster Abbey in London, the crown of St. Edward the Confessor was placed on the monarch by the spiritual head of the Church of England, Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby.
Now Charles III will be enthroned, after which the archbishop, the clergy and Prince William of Wales will swear allegiance to him. Those present at the abbey will also be able to swear an oath to the king. British viewers will also have the opportunity to do this – it has become an innovation.
The coronation ceremony of 74-year-old Charles III was attended by more than 2.2 thousand people from more than 200 countries. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov also took part in the celebrations. He flew to London the day before on Friday.
The coronation took place eight months after the death of Charles III's mother, Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022). He ascended the British throne on September 8, 2022.
