President Serdar Berdimuhamedov will take part in the coronation ceremony of King Charles III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The head of Turkmenistan left to London on Friday, at the invitation of the British side.
Before departure, Serdar Berdimuhamedov had a conversation with British Ambassador Lucia Wild at the Ashgabat airport. During the conversation, it was stated that there are broad prospects for partnership between the two countries in various fields. The British diplomat also said that the participation of the President of Turkmenistan in the celebrations on the occasion of the coronation of King Charles III will be a significant event in the history of bilateral relations and will give them a new impetus.
At Stansted airport in London, the President of Turkmenistan was met by the Special Representative of the King of Great Britain Charles Anderson, the Envoy of the Prime Minister of Great Britain for Trade in Turkmenistan, Baroness Emma Nicholson and other officials.
This trip of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov is an important high-level foreign policy event confirming the position and role of Turkmenistan in the region and the world. The visit is aimed at continuing the implementation of the country's foreign policy towards comprehensive and deep international integration, the implementation of its multilateral diplomacy.
The coronation of the new King of Great Britain, Northern Ireland and the Commonwealth Realms — Charles III will take place on May 6 at Westminster Abbey.
