The Majilis of Kazakhstan has ratified an agreement on cooperation to combat counterfeiting in the CIS


Deputies of the Lower House of the Parliament of Kazakhstan have ratified the Agreement on Cooperation of the CIS states on the Prevention and Suppression of the Use of False Trademarks and Geographical Indications.
The agreement was signed on May 28, 2021 at a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth. It is aimed at creating conditions that allow cooperation on the prevention, detection and suppression of the production and sale of goods with false trademarks and geographical indications, as well as the movement of such goods across the state borders of the CIS member states.
Currently, internal procedures under the Agreement have been carried out by Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
The Majilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan also adopted the draft law "On ratification of the Protocol on Amendments to the Agreement on Free (Special, Special) Economic Zones in the Customs Territory of the Customs Union and the customs procedure of the free customs zone of June 18, 2010".
