The concept of debates on the Zone of Peace, Trust and Cooperation of Central Asia has been published

The concept of the debates of the UN General Assembly initiated by Turkmenistan on agenda item 61 "Zone of Peace, Trust and Cooperation of Central Asia" has been published in the six official languages of the Organization as a document of the 77th session of the General Assembly. This is reported on the website of the permanent mission of Turkmenistan to the UN.
The concept considers the creation of zones of peace as one of the important tools complementing the UN Charter. As a means of preventive diplomacy aimed at strengthening the security of the countries of the region, zones of peace are the most effective way to contain and resolve regional conflicts and tensions.
It should be noted that the debate is scheduled for May 16 at the UN headquarters in accordance with General Assembly resolution 76/299 of July 28, 2022 "Zone of Peace, Trust and Cooperation of Central Asia".
Along with resolution 76/299, the resolutions of the General Assembly on the establishment of a zone of peace and cooperation in the South Atlantic (41/11 of October 27, 1986) and on the declaration of the Indian Ocean as a zone of peace (2832 (XXVI) of December 16, 1971) also became important steps towards the recognition of zones of peace at the international level and the formulation of this concept.
