Turkmenistan is improving laboratory activities with the support of WHO


As part of the implementation of the agreement between the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry and the WHO Regional Office for Europe, Natalia Kostik, a temporary consultant of the organization, arrived in Turkmenistan.
The visit is aimed at improving the quality of laboratory work and the introduction of a quality management system based on the ISO 15189:2022 standard in the virological reference laboratory of the Center for Public Health and Nutrition of Turkmenistan.
The ISO 15189:2022 standard is clearly focused on planning activities related to risks and opportunities, which should have a positive impact on improving the efficiency of the management system, reducing the likelihood of obtaining unreliable results and potential damage. Laboratory activities should be carried out in accordance with the principles of ethics and legal requirements for subjects providing services to the patient.
The expert's visit was organized within the framework of the WHO initiative "Good Laboratories – good health".
