The TRACECA program assigns an important role to the coordinated actions of the countries

The delegates of the Ashgabat transport conference ITTC-2023 paid close attention to the creation of modern conditions and opportunities in the field of transport and logistics, which, forming an international corridor, provide regional connectivity, Asset Asavbaev, Secretary General of the Permanent Secretariat (PS) of the Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) TRACECA began his speech.
The modern geopolitical architecture is very mobile and dictates its own conditions in the formation of transport corridors. Freight traffic to these realities, sometimes, has to adapt in a very short time, sometimes not being able to choose the most profitable and optimal routes. Such circumstances do not have the best effect on the timing and time of delivery of the goods.

On the other hand, each emerging complexity opens up new opportunities and cooperates with the actions of government structures and business circles in creating active measures for the modernization and development of modern transport infrastructure. The emphasis is on simplifying procedures, continued Asset Asavbaev.
Also, an important role in the creation of corridors is assigned to international relations and coordinated actions of countries. An example of such successful cooperation is the TRACECA program of the European Union (Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia), which turns 30 this year. In 1993, it was put forward at a conference in Brussels by the ministers of trade and transport of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. At the same time, the participants adopted the Brussels Declaration.
Turkmenistan, which was at the origin of the program, last year expressed its intention to join the multilateral agreement on the development of the international transport corridor TRACECA, Asset Asavbaev said.
