Issues of drought management discussed in Turkmenistan
The issues of integrated drought management were discussed during the meeting of the interdepartmental group for the implementation of the project "Development of national progress in adaptation planning in Turkmenistan". It is implemented by the Government of Turkmenistan jointly with the United Nations Development Program and the Green Climate Fund.
The participants also reviewed strategic documents in the field of drought, considered the role of the private sector in combating desertification.
The project "Development of National Adaptation Planning Progress in Turkmenistan" aims to strengthen the country's capacity for adaptation and sustainability by developing a national adaptation process (NAP). The project aims to develop a national coordination mechanism and management processes for adaptation planning and measures.
