Gianni Infantino will visit Turkmenistan as part of a tour of Central Asia


President of the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) Gianni Infantino will visit Turkmenistan on May 4. During the one-day visit, the head of FIFA will discuss with the leadership of the country and the national football federation the development of the "game of millions" and prospects for interaction, the electronic newspaper "Turkmenistan - Golden Age" reported on Tuesday.
Infantino makes a tour of Central Asia, on May 2 he arrived in Tajikistan, where he took part in the eighth Congress of the Central Asian Football Association in Dushanbe, where President of the Football Federation of Tajikistan, Rustam Emomali, was re-elected to the post of CAFA President for a new four-year term.
At the Congress, President of the Football Federation of Turkmenistan Arslan Ainazarov and President of the Football Federation of Afghanistan Mohammad Yusuf Korgar were elected Vice-Presidents of CAFA.
Infantino, along with AFC head Salman bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, was received by Tajik President Emomali Rahmon.
This week Infantino will also visit Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
