The new Constitution of Uzbekistan will contribute to the development of the country — Serdar Berdimuhamedov


President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the successful holding of a referendum on amendments and additions to the Constitution of Uzbekistan, which, as the head of Turkmenistan noted, will contribute to the development of the neighboring country.
In his message, Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that the active participation of Uzbek citizens in the referendum testifies to the broad support of the head of the republic and full understanding of the ongoing reforms.
The President stressed that the referendum was held in an atmosphere of openness and on the basis of democratic principles. He also expressed his commitment to expanding the further Turkmen-Uzbek partnership.
Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also sent his congratulations to Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the people of Uzbekistan.
"I can say with firm confidence that Uzbekistan, being an active participant in international relations, will continue its activities on the world political arena with renewed vigor, will become the initiator of new ideas aimed at solving topical issues on the global agenda today," the message of the national leader of the Turkmen people reads.
