The Russian Chess Federation has completed the transition to Asia

The Russian Chess Federation has completed the transition from the European Chess Union to the Asian Chess Federation. The President of the Russian Chess Federation Andrey Filatov called this event a "new historical chapter" and thanked the President of the Asian Chess Federation Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan.
Within the framework of the signed memorandum of understanding, the Russian Chess Federation undertook to hold at least one continental event every year, to work in close cooperation with the national member federations of the ASF to improve the development of professional and children's chess.
Russia has already expressed interest in hosting the Asian Youth Chess Championship in Moscow this December.
"The Russian Chess Federation is pleased to share our extensive experience in organizing high-level chess events and looks forward to the start of our partnership with the ASF, which we hope will be long-term and mutually beneficial," said Andrey Filatov.
