A judoka from Turkmenistan won a silver medal at the Asian Open Cup in Kuwait


Turkmen judoka Mammadali Achyldiyev won a silver medal at the Asian Open Cup held on April 28-29 in El Kuwait.
Achyldiyev was awarded the silver medal in the weight category up to 90 kg.
In the quarterfinals of the tournament, the Turkmen athlete defeated John Viron Ferrer from the Philippines. At the semi-final stage, Achyldiyev took over the representative of South Korea Yuchul Kim. In the final match, the Turkmen judoka lost to the Kyrgyzstani Anarbek Ishenbaev.
A day earlier, another representative of Turkmenistan brought a medal to the national team. Maisa Pardaeva won a bronze medal in the weight category up to 57 kg.
The Asian Open Cup brought together 156 judokas (116 men and 40 women) from 27 countries. Turkmenistan is represented by 14 athletes at this tournament.
