The Turkmen judoka won the bronze medal of the Open Asian Cup in Kuwait


The representative of Turkmenistan, Maysa Pardayeva, won a bronze medal in the weight category up to 57 kg at the April 28-29 in Kuwait City (Kuwait) at the Open Asian Cup.
In the preliminary round, the Turkmen athlete emerged the winner of her subgroup. However, at the semifinal stage, Pardayeva failed to break the resistance of South Korean athlete Yuna Shin, who later turned out to be the champion of the tournament.
In the fight for the bronze medal, Pardayeva took over Yamini Murya from India. Another bronze winner was Fationa Kasapi (Kosovo). The silver medalist of the tournament was American Noran Elmahrukey.
Maysa Pardayeva is 18 years old. She studies in the 10th grade of secondary school No. 20 of the Koytendag district of the Lebap region. The first-grader rises to the podium for the third time at international competitions. A year ago, she became the champion of the Junior Asian Cup-2022 in Almaty. And in March of this year, she was awarded silver at the Junior European Cup-2023 in Sarajevo.
Recall that the Open Asian Cup brought together 156 judoists (116 men and 40 women) from 27 countries of four continents. Turkmenistan is represented by 14 athletes at this tournament.
