President of Uzbekistan approves Bakhtiyor Saidov as Minister of Foreign Affairs


President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved Bakhtiyor Saidov for the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan. Earlier, the candidacy of the new Foreign Minister was approved by deputies of the legislative chamber of the Oliy Majlis.
Prior to his appointment as acting head of the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan on December 30, 2022, he was the Minister of Public Education of the country. In 2017-2021, he was the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to China. At the same time, he was Ambassador to Mongolia and the Philippines with residence in Beijing.
Saidov also held senior positions in the Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of Uzbekistan, as well as the Uzbekengilsanoat enterprise.
