The North—South Club plans to open a representative office in Ashgabat
The North—South International Club, which is developing the international transport corridor of the same name, intends to open a representative office in Ashgabat.
This was stated by the chairman of the club Ramazan Abdulatipov at the opening of the branch in New Delhi, TASS reports.
"Such work is underway, and in the near future, I think [director of the North-South club] Dmitry Borisovich [Dubovik] will do a lot of work on opening the same representative offices in Baku, Tashkent, Ashgabat and so on," Abdulatipov said.
The club is engaged in simplifying procedures for the transportation of goods along the North—South ITC, for example, through the introduction of a single document for the entire route, the removal of customs barriers, etc. Negotiations are underway with Governments on these issues. The Club holds meetings, works on documents and provides expert support.
At the moment, about 20 thousand containers a year are transported through the North—South ITC, Abdulatipov said. Two years ago, the volume of traffic was at the level of 9 thousand containers. According to experts, it is possible to arrange transportation of up to 20 million containers per year along the route.
