The Shanghai Auto Show presented 1.5 thousand premieres: "green" cars are in trend

Almost a thousand participants, dozens of world premieres and the latest developments in the field of electric vehicles. The 20th International Auto Show Auto Shanghai 2023 opened in Shanghai on Tuesday, reports TASS.
The Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, the first after the pandemic, presents the best novelties of auto giants. Manufacturers from all over the world have brought 1.5 thousand new models, of which 100 will be shown for the first time, and the lion's share of them is from the Chinese automotive industry.

The main trend is the so–called "green" cars - environmentally friendly electric cars and even with a "brutal" design. Battery-powered cars set the tone in automotive fashion. Even representatives of the German BMW adapt to the requirements of the market and brought their own electric car.
However, China holds the position of the global driver of electrification and the leader in the field of connected automotive services. China has one of the most complex technology markets in the world, where customer needs are changing rapidly and orient the Chinese auto industry. Last year alone, the Chinese bought more than 23 million cars.

Competitors take cars assembled in China seriously today. According to experts, in terms of technical equipment, quality and price, they are now in the same "orchestra" with the world's auto giants. New items are "stamped" literally for every car dealership.
Leading Chinese electric car manufacturer BYD is expected to show its new compact urban electric car Seagull. Of great interest is also the premiere of the U9 sports car, which looks like the Mclaren P1 from the premium brand Yangwang, which also belongs to BYD. Cherry is waiting for a new luxury electric car Exeed Sterra ES.

Foreign automakers will also "flaunt" their eco-friendly cars - Volkswagen will present a new electric sedan ID.7 with a power reserve of up to 700 km without recharging and the most powerful electric motor in the company's line. Mercedes-Benz will show at the exhibition the electric crossover EQS SUV, which will be the world premiere of this car.
Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, Subaru, Buick, Chevrolet, Cadillac, Ford, Citroen, Peugeot, Renault will also traditionally present their products, including restyled versions and concepts.
