BelTA: Minsk will host competitions in seven sports at the II CIS Games


Competitions in seven sports will be held within the framework of the II Games of the CIS countries, which Minsk will host, BelTA reports with reference to Maxim Voropai, head of the Main Department of Sports and Tourism of the Minsk City Executive Committee. According to him, the readiness of the capital for the Games is high.
Together with other specialists responsible for organizing and holding competitions in the Belarusian capital, the management staff inspected the sports locations and infrastructure facilities of the city that will be involved during the Games. The organizers got acquainted with the places reserved for athletes' accommodation, studied the menu, and also made up the optimal routes of movement of the participants of the Games from the hotel to the sports facility and back.
According to Maxim Voropai, the Palace of Rhythmic Gymnastics, Minsk Arena, Sports Palace, Palova Arena, Chizhovka Arena, SKA Uruchye, sports and recreation complexes for shooting sports are ready to receive athletes.
The list of sports facilities is still open and can be supplemented after the final decision on the number of athletes is made. For example, in Minsk, three volleyball locations are needed for volleyball competitions: the Sports Palace, Chizhovka Arena and SKA Uruchye.
