The international conference dedicated to the Russian language will be held in November — October 2023

The Head of the Federation Council of Russia Valentina Matvienko invited the parliaments of the Commonwealth of Independent States to participate in the organization of the international conference "The Russian language is the basis of integration dialogue in the CIS region", which will be held in October — November this year.
Such a proposal was announced during the 5th plenary session of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, the press service of the organization reports.
In addition, Matvienko called on the participating countries to promote the creation of a special organization to support and promote the Russian language, previously initiated by the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
"I believe that the Assembly can and should take part in the process of creating and functioning such an organization. The political potential of the IPA, the resource base, the pool of experts formed, as well as long—term ties with educational, scientific and cultural institutions in the CIS countries may be very much in demand in the implementation of this important project," the head of the Federation Council believes.
The year 2023 in the CIS has been declared the Year of the Russian Language as the Language of Interethnic communication.
