D. Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages initiated the event, during which Japanese-learning students of universities of Turkmenistan demonstrated their mastery of oratory to guests from Japan.

The contest of "meliglosses" on the possession of speech skills was held entirely in Japanese. The Turkmen students were evaluated by three representatives of the Japanese Embassy and two teachers of the Japan Foundation, which is responsible for cultural exchange and promotion of the Japanese language in the world.

The participants of the competition were students not only from TNIWL, but also from another higher educational institution — Oguz han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan.

It is noteworthy that this university has already established itself as one of the most effective universities in learning the language of the Land of the Rising Sun. The thing is that specialists from the University of Tsukuba are involved in the work of this educational institution, who teach junior courses studying nanotechnology.

The Oguz han ETUT is the only university in the country the curriculum of which fully functions according to the Japanese model of education.

During the competition, 12 speakers, who were divided into two teams, read a pre-prepared speech on a free topic in Japanese. Then they had to tell about their hobbies. The jury members of the Japanese delegation asked questions on relevant topics. Foreign guests noted the high level of language competence among students.

According to the results of the competition, the best experts of the Japanese language were determined. They were awarded diplomas and valuable prizes.

Linguists from TNIWL and representatives of the Japanese diplomatic corps expressed their readiness for further cooperation, the solid foundation of which was laid last year. Then the Government of Japan implemented a project to install a language lab, an auditorium for simultaneous translation, and an office for Japanese language teachers.
