Improved CAREC Transit System and General Information Exchange (ITS/GIE) is a harmonized electronic system for controlling the movement of transit goods through the CAREC member States. Modeled on the New Digital Transit System (NCTS) of the European Union (EU), it aims to improve supply chain security in the CAREC region.
The advantages of the system include saving time at the borders for transit operators, accelerated border crossing and an optimized guarantee mechanism.
