Ashgabat to host the 16th Central Asia + Republic of Korea Cooperation Forum
The parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Korea, headed by head of the inter-parliamentary friendship group "Korea-Turkmenistan" Lee Dal-gon, held a number of working meetings in Ashgabat.
In particular, the guests from the Land of the Morning Calm considered ways to expand contacts between the legislative bodies of the two states at a meeting with Chairwoman of the Mejlis Dunyagozel Gulmanova.
A multifaceted agenda for cooperation was also discussed at a meeting of Korean parliamentarians at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
It was noted that a new impetus to Turkmen-Korean relations was given by the visit of Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Korea in November 2022.
During the meetings, attention was paid to the important role of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Korean Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation. The relevance of interaction in the field of science, education, medicine, sports, tourism, cultural and humanitarian contacts was emphasized.
The Turkmen side also informed about the preparations for the 16th Central Asia + Republic of Korea Cooperation Forum to be held in Ashgabat this year.
During the visit, the Korean delegation also held talks with the leaders of the oil and gas sector.
In addition, the guests visited the equestrian complex in the foothills of the Kopetdag, where they admired the magnificent Akhal-Teke horses and watched the circus performances of Turkmen riders, examined the architectural panorama in the new city of Arkadag.
