Growth rates in the transport and communications sector of Turkmenistan were announced


In the first quarter of this year, the transport and communications sector of Turkmenistan achieved high growth rates in the performance of works and services - in the whole complex they amounted to 122.3%. This follows from the report of Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications Mammetkhan Chakiev at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Saturday.
It is known that during the pandemic, aviation was the most severely affected sector, but recently Turkmen Airlines has been demonstrating the highest growth rates - 283.8%.
The industry leader is followed by road transport - 126.6%. The agencies “Turkmensvyaz”, “Maritime and river navigation”, as well as “Turkmen Railways” are lagging behind them with a certain margin with growth rates of work and services rendered, respectively, 111.8%, 109.6% and 103.2%.
During the government meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov addressed a number of instructions to the head of the transport and communications complex, including the study of foreign experience in the field of electrification of railways with the possible involvement of foreign specialists in relevant projects in Turkmenistan.
