Economic cooperation - on the agenda of CIS gathering in Uzbekistan
On 3 November 2017, Tashkent will host a meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of Government, the press service of the CIS Executive Committee says. Delegations headed by the Prime Ministers of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, as well as the Chairman of the Executive Committee Sergey Lebedev will gather in the capital of Uzbekistan. Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan will be represented by deputy prime ministers, Moldova – by Plenipotentiary Representative to the statutory and other bodies of the CIS. The agenda covers a range of issues of future cooperation in the CIS space. The parties will focus on the economic sphere of cooperation both in the expanded and the narrow format of the meeting. There are about 20 draft documents, proposed for consideration in an expanded format. Among them - Decision on the implementation of the provisions of the Agreement on Free Trade Area, the Agreement on the exchange of information necessary to determine and control the customs value of goods, the Concept of cooperation in land reclamation, the Concept of cooperation in the field oil and gas engineering, Decision on the preparation for the population census, to be held in 2020 in the CIS. On the sidelines, the heads of delegations will be received by the President of Uzbekistan. A number of bilateral talks are also expected. The previous meeting of the Council was held in Kazan in May this year. It was resulted in approval of 12 legal instruments.
