Turkmenistan supported the holding by Tashkent of the international conference of space technologies
The Agency "Turkmensvyaz" and JSC "Turkmen Hemrasy" (national satellite communications operator) supported the holding of the international conference of space technologies in Tashkent on April 25-27, acting as its official sponsors.
250 experts are expected to participate and the heads of space agencies from more than 12 countries will visit. The Space Technology Conference is a business—oriented event that will bring together national and regional space agencies, as well as business representatives from all over Central Eurasia.
The conference program is dedicated to international cooperation and investments, discussion of new satellite technologies, security, finance and regulation in the industry.
A meeting of the heads of space agencies and relevant departments of the Organization of Turkic States is planned, where priorities for the development of the space industry in the region will be discussed. As a result of the conference, it is planned to sign bilateral agreements, as well as to reach agreements on long-term cooperation.
Uzbekistan will hold this conference for the second time. "We are glad that the event has returned to Uzbekistan in 2023, and we are looking forward to hosting it in our country in April before transferring the organization to another country in 2024," said the head of Uzbekcosmos, Shukhrat Kadyrov. The conference was sponsored by the world leaders of the space technology industry: Turksat (Turkey), ESRI (USA), MonocoSat/SSI Monoco (Kingdom of Monaco), Contec (South Korea), Eutelsat (France), IAI (Israel), Synspective (Singapore), Intersputnik (Russia), SES (Switzerland), Airbus (USA), Thales (France), Voyager (USA), etc.
The conference will host the youth forum Youth Space Forum — as the organizers noted, the first popular science event in Central Asia, which will bring together young researchers from more than 20 countries. The platform is expected to help popularize space as a profession and the world's leading technology industry. More than 50 partner universities are expected to participate.
The National Communications Agency of Turkmenistan is currently exploring options for launching a second communications satellite. The national satellite operator Turkmen Hemrasy also plans to expand the use of Earth observation and remote sensing data in several key industries.
Turkmenistan will take advantage of the most modern satellite technologies to maximize the technical capabilities of this second satellite while maintaining the current frequency band of the existing TurkmenAlem 52E communications satellite and adding additional frequencies to expand the coverage area. It is also planned to modernize the ground infrastructure.
The data obtained from Earth remote sensing satellites have become a very important source for solving practical tasks of state, regional and local self-government in the field of monitoring natural and man-made objects and phenomena and improving the efficiency of economic activity, especially in agriculture, water resources management, cartography, oil and gas industry, urban planning, ecology, transport sector, etc. etc .
In 2022, training seminars on the use and analysis of satellite data obtained from Earth remote sensing satellites were held for specialists in these industries.
