The visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Tajikistan is postponed
The official visit of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Tajikistan has been postponed for an indefinite period, the Asia-Plus website reported on Saturday, citing the press service of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
It was noted that the visit was postponed due to the death of the grandmother of the head of Turkmenistan, the mother of Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov - Ogulabad eje.
The official visit was scheduled for April 10-11.
In addition, the first meeting of the Business Council of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, scheduled for April 8, as well as the business forum of entrepreneurs from both countries, which was supposed to be held on April 9, have also been cancelled.
Emomali Rahmon sent a telegram of condolences to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
“With a feeling of deep sadness, I received the news of the death of your esteemed mother, Ogulabad eje. Please accept our most sincere and deepest condolences for your loss. I wish you, your loved ones and relatives endurance and patience in this difficult time,” the President of Tajikistan wrote.
