The Astrakhan governor handed over the icon of Alexander Nevsky to the Orthodox in Turkmenistan


During his visit to Turkmenistan, the Governor of the Astrakhan region, Igor Babushkin, presented an icon of Prince Alexander Nevsky to the Orthodox church located in the city of Turkmenbashi, Astrakhan 24 reports. Visiting Orthodox shrines to strengthen friendship between peoples living on the territory of the Caspian countries is an integral part of the program of the "Caspian — Sea of Friendship" motorcycle race, which was headed by Babushkin.
The motorcycle rally started in Astrakhan on April 1 and is scheduled to end on April 11. In 10 days, motorcyclists will overcome 5 thousand kilometers.
In Turkmenistan, Igor Babushkin met with President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The parties discussed a wide range of issues, including opening of the regular air flights between Turkmenbashi and Astrakhan.
