The United Nations Development Program in Turkmenistan, together with the Office of the Permanent Coordinator of the United Nations, held a seminar to discuss the draft of the Second Voluntary National Review of Turkmenistan on the implementation of the global Agenda for Sustainable Development until 2030.
The seminar was attended by representatives of relevant ministries and departments, as well as UN agencies. Together with international expert Bakytgul Khambar, the participants identified further steps to prepare the final version of the second VNR, taking into account modern challenges and realities.
The second Voluntary National Review of Turkmenistan will include the progress made by the country in such areas as health, education, food and energy security, infrastructure, gender equality, ecology and partnership.
One of the key messages of the VNR is the country's commitment to achieving the SDGs and creating a unified model of sustainable development with an emphasis on the individual and improving the well-being of every citizen of the country.
