The delegation of Turkmenistan will take part in the UN General Assembly meeting on waste-free production


Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova will take part in the High-level Meeting of the UN General Assembly on waste-free production, which will be held on March 30 in New York, according to the website of the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN.
The event will also include a presentation of the modern city of Arkadag, the new administrative center of the Ahal region, which widely uses waste-free technologies, smart urban systems and modern environmental solutions.
Myahri Byashimova will also hold a series of meetings with senior UN officials to discuss expanding international cooperation in the field of peace consolidation and achieving sustainable development at the regional and global levels.
The meeting on the occasion of the International Day for a World Without Waste will be organized jointly with the United Nations Environment Programme and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN Habitat) in order to promote environmentally sound waste management to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The meeting is also intended to promote the implementation of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, the Convention on Biological Diversity, the New Urban Development Program and the Basel Convention on the Control of Transboundary Movements of Hazardous Wastes and Their Disposal.
