Young Turkmen gymnasts won six medals at the tournament in Georgia


Six medals — one gold, four silver and one bronze — were won by young Turkmen athletes at the international rhythmic gymnastics tournament held on March 25-26 in Tbilisi (Georgia).
The award of the golden dignity was brought to the Turkmen national team by Aygul Geldyyeva, a fourth-grade student of the capital's secondary school No. 41.
Fatima Kambarova, Mahym Gurbanova, Aysen Abdullayeva and Sara Gulberdyyeva were awarded silver medals. Myahri Pomanova took the third position on the podium.
The "Audience Award" went to the Turkmen athlete Veronika Kurdopova, who performed in the age category, in which 46 participants performed.
Turkmen gymnasts performed at the championship under the guidance of coaches Fiza Ayvazova and Dunyagozel Ataniyazova.
The tournament, held in Tbilisi, brought together over a hundred of the best representatives of rhythmic gymnastics from Turkmenistan, Georgia, Egypt, Israel, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan and the UAE.
As the Gymnastics Federation of Turkmenistan told ORIENT, in the near future, the national team is planning a training camp in Belarus to prepare for the Asian Championship and other international tournaments.
