Ankara welcomes the results of the elections in Turkmenistan — Turkish Foreign Ministry


Turkey welcomes the results of the parliamentary elections in Turkmenistan, according to a press release on the official website of the country's Foreign Ministry.
The statement says that Turkey is satisfied with the fact that the parliamentary elections in Turkmenistan were held in a peaceful and calm atmosphere and emphasizes that Ankara attaches great importance to stability in a friendly and fraternal country.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry also expressed hope that the election results will benefit the Turkmen society.
Elections of deputies of the Mejlis, members of the Halk maslahaty and gengesh were held in Turkmenistan on March 26. The turnout was 91.12% of the total number of all registered voters.
2 thousand 855 national observers nominated by political parties, public associations and groups of citizens observed the course of the elections. International observers from the CIS, SCO, OTS, OIC, as well as one of the OSCE institutions, the ODIHR, arrived in Turkmenistan to monitor the course of the elections.
