The Turkmen weightlifter won gold at the junior World Championship in Albania


Turkmen weightlifter Ogulshat Amanova won the gold medal of the Youth World Championship-2023, which is being held in Durres (Albania).
A pupil of the capital's School of Higher Sports Skills has won the championship in the weight category up to 47 kg. In the sum of the two types of exercise, Amanova showed a result of 156 kg: 71 kg in the snatch and 85 kg in the clean and jerk.
Filipina Angelina Coloni — 155 (72+83) rose to the second step of the podium. The bronze award went to the athlete from India Akanksha Vyavahara — 150 (68 + 82).
The composition of the Turkmen delegation to the youth championship was formed by 13 people, including 9 athletes. Weightlifters from Turkmenistan perform at the world Championship under the leadership of Gurbandurdy Amanov and Ahmed Saryev.
The Junior World Weightlifting Championship is an annual competition held under the auspices of the IWF. The current tournament brought together over three hundred weightlifters from 61 countries aged 13 to 17 years, who are contesting medals in 20 weight categories. The championship, which started on March 25, will end on April 1.
