The CEC recognized the parliamentary elections in Turkmenistan as held


The Central Election Commission of Turkmenistan recognized the elections of deputies of the Mejlis, members of the Halk maslahaty and gengesh on March 26 in 2644 polling stations across the country.
This was stated by the chairman of the Central Election Commission Gulmurad Muradov at the final briefing held with the participation of international observers and the media.
In total, 3 million 185 thousand 763 people took part in the elections, which amounted to 91.12% of all registered voters.
2 thousand 855 national observers nominated by political parties, public associations and groups of citizens observed the course of the elections.
International observers from the CIS, SCO, OTS, OIC, as well as one of the OSCE institutions, the ODIHR, arrived in Turkmenistan to monitor the course of the elections.
Muradov separately stressed that the current elections differed from those held earlier by a large number of registered candidates. Thus, 175 candidates from political parties and 83 from groups of citizens ran for deputies.
