The Turkmen University of Engineering Technologies named after Oguz Khan was the first in Central Asia to be accepted as a member of the international association CDIO - Conceive — Design — Implement — Operate, which translates to: Invent — create — Implement — Manage.

The main principle of the innovative educational platform CDIO is the training of a new generation of engineers, people who can change the world for the better. In addition, this task is designed to be solved by modern engineering universities, whose graduates are able to plan, design, produce and construct complex objects.

Today, about 200 higher educational institutions and research institutes from more than 40 countries of the world are members of CDIO. From now on, the Turkmen university is also on this list.

Being a member of this association, teachers and students of Oguz Khan University have the opportunity to participate in international and Asian regional conferences and can get acquainted and study the experience of other foreign higher educational institutions in the training of engineers and technologists, as well as adopt their practice to improve the skills of students.

Earlier, the Turkmen Technical University entered the world ranking of universities according to the British journal of Higher Education. The university received recognition for three sustainable development goals: "Ensuring access to cheap, reliable and modern energy sources", "Creating sustainable infrastructure, promoting industrialization and innovation" and "Strengthening global cooperation".

Oguz Khan University of Engineering and Technology is today the only university in Turkmenistan with a curriculum based on the Japanese model. Specialists are trained in 10 areas, among them "nanomaterials", "biotechnology" and "robotics".
