Turkmen judoists win three medals at the 2023 European Junior Cup in Sarajevo

Turkmen judokas won one gold and two silver medals at the European Open Youth Championship that ended in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina).

Serdar Rakhimov won a gold medal in the weight category up to 66 kg. On the way to the first place, the Turkmen judoka won five victories, in the preliminary round being stronger than Ferro Valerio (Italy), Krzysztof Klimkiewicz (Poland) and Marko Lojanicic (Serbia).

At the semi-final stage, Rakhimov defeated the athlete from Israel, Odin Yuval, and in the final of the championship, he broke the resistance of Flavius Lunga from Romania.

Baymyrat Mayanov brought another medal to the treasury of the Turkmen team. The Turkmen judoka won a silver medal in the weight category up to 100 kg.

In the quarterfinals of the tournament, Mayanov defeated Gal Bertalanik (Serbia). In the semi-finals, the Turkmen judoka defeated another Serb, Ognen Dyurisich. The championship final was not crowned with success for Mayanov, who lost the first line to the Estonian Jakob Mares.

In the women's tournament as part of the Turkmen team, Maysa Pardaeva, who competed in the weight category up to 57 kg, climbed to the second step of the podium.

First, Turkmen judoka won Kristina Nisavich from Serbia.

Maisa Pardaeva was stronger than Yuliya Bulanda (Poland) in the semi-finals. However, in the final, the Turkmen judoka failed to break the resistance of another Polish woman, Kinga Khmelevsky, limiting herself to the silver medal of the championship.

The two-day tournament in Sarajevo brought together 268 athletes (166 men and 102 women) from 18 countries on four continents.

Turkmenistan was represented at this tournament by 13 judokas (10 men and 3 women).
