The participating countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) will create a common civil defense mechanism, Anadolu Agency reports. The draft of the relevant agreement between the relevant structures will be prepared for the X summit of the organization in Turkestan.

The OTS agreed to strengthen cooperation between national agencies for combating natural disasters and emergencies. The purpose of strengthening cooperation is to increase the effectiveness of meeting needs in the event of possible disasters.

The parties also expressed their readiness to strengthen cooperation between national medical rescue units. Together with the OTS observer countries, they will participate in joint activities to build their capacity.

The member countries of the Organization of Turkic States expressed solidarity with Turkey on the issue of rebuilding the country after two devastating earthquakes.
