Mixed martial arts are included in the program of the Asian Indoor Games

Mixed martial arts (MMA) is officially included in the sports program of the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG), which Thailand will host this year.

The decision on this was approved at a meeting of the Coordinating Committee of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) in preparation for the competition.

Earlier, the OCA decided to create its own continental organization for this sport, without including it in either the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation or the Global Mixed Martial Arts Association. In turn, the national Olympic federations called for joining the OCA body.

This year's Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games will be held from November 17 to 26 in the Thai cities of Bangkok and Chonburi.
