Baku to host regional railway forum
On 6-7 December 2017, Baku will host a forum “Caspian and Central Asia Rail 2017”. The purpose of the event is to contribute to the promotion of the activity of the railroad workers community in the countries of these regions. The meeting is organized by the international company “Terrapinn” in official partnership with Azerbaijan Railways CJSC. Over 600 representatives of transport ministries and departments of the countries of the regions, construction companies, transport operators, government agencies, contractors and suppliers will participate in the forum. The main emphasis during the two-day event will be made on the strategies, technologies and innovations used in the implementation of projects for the development of passenger and freight rail transport. Senior officials will exchange visions on facilitation of transport dialogue in the Eurasian space and projects within the framework of the Chinese initiative "One Belt One Road". Panel discussions will be devoted to such topical issues of the railway industry as ensuring cybersecurity, introducing a high-tech system for electrification of trunk lines, investing in the creation of mega-trade corridors, and the importance of the digitization strategy in the activities of railway operators.
