Bishkek and Tashkent agreed to increase trade turnover to $2 billion by the end of the year


Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan have agreed to increase the trade turnover of the republics to two billion US dollars by the end of 2023, the press service of the Kyrgyz government told RIA Novosti.
According to the report, on Thursday, Kyrgyz Prime Minister Akylbek Japarov, who is on a working visit to Tashkent, met with his Uzbek counterpart Abdulla Aripov.
During the meeting, “an exchange of views took place on a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation in trade, economic, investment, water and energy, transport and communication, cultural, humanitarian and other fields.”
"The parties expressed their readiness to bring the volume of mutual trade up to two billion US dollars this year," the spokesman said.
“We have every opportunity to reach the mark of 2 billion US dollars of mutual trade and stand for the speedy implementation of major joint projects, in particular the construction of the Kambar-Ata hydroelectric power station-1 and the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway,” Aripov said.
