Percussion artist Chen Zimbalista performs a concert in Ashgabat
One of the leading percussion soloists in Israel Chen Zimbalista will perform another concert to the accompaniment of the State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat. The concert will take place in the Palace of Mukams on July 30.
The joint cultural event is organized by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and the Embassy of Israel in our country.
The ‘king of rhythm’, a world Classical percussion soloist and bandmaster has once again performs a concert in Ashgabat, having dazzled the audiences with an enchanting array of rhythmic sounds of marimba - a percussion instrument. Chen Zimbalista has been performing throughout the world - U.S.A., Canada, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Brazil, China, and the Netherlands.
Chen told that like any other boy he wanted to play percussion instruments… it was his mother, who wanted him to play piano and flute.
“I studied playing flute for three years and all this time I hoped that soon I would get a ‘permission’ to play an instrument I was dreaming about. In a while, I started blending piano and percussion instruments…”
Later, Chen got acquainted with marimba and had been taken captive by the sound of this instrument.
“It is quite difficult to play marimba, every time it is like a challenge, but I love challenges…”
