The CIS is working on the establishment of observer and partner institutions of the Commonwealth

The expert group for consideration of the relevant draft Regulations and Model Protocols expressed interest in establishing observer and partner institutions in the CIS during a meeting at the headquarters of the Commonwealth. This is reported on the website of the CIS Executive Committee.
In this regard, the participants discussed the specific rights and obligations of the observer and partner in the CIS.
The initiative to establish partner and observer institutions at the CIS was announced earlier by the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Potential partners and observers can be countries and international organizations in cooperation with which the CIS member States are interested.
At the same time, it is emphasized that preference is given to international organizations with which there are already signed practical documents on cooperation.
