Customs services of Turkmenistan and Iran reviewed cooperation in the field of data exchange


Issues related to the use of the e-TIR electronic system and data exchange were among the key issues at the meeting of the heads of customs services of Turkmenistan and Iran. This is reported by the website of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.
The next meeting of the delegations took place first at the "Bajgiran" customs post of Iran, and then at the "Howdan" customs post in Turkmenistan.
The information exchange between the customs authorities of the two countries is designed to speed up customs operations and improve the effectiveness of customs control, including through the use of a risk management system. It will also ensure the transparency of commodity flows, will contribute to improving the quality of customs statistics collection.
The parties also discussed the implementation of bilateral documents concluded between the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Customs Department of the Islamic Republic of Iran, got acquainted with the activities of the joint border market "Howdan-Bajgiran".
The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Turkmenistan and the Consul General of Turkmenistan in Mashhad.
