Serdar Berdimuhamedov: about the assistance to developing countries, WHO support, and a new resolution


The recovery of the world economy should not harm developing countries and occur at their expense, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov said, speaking at the Summit of the contact group of the Non-Aligned Movement to combat COVID-19, the Turkmen state news agency reports.
In his speech, the Head of state paid special attention to the problems of developing countries. Thus, the President took the initiative to establish fair logistics for the uninterrupted delivery of medicines and medical equipment to the most vulnerable countries.
He also called on the countries of the Non-Aligned Movement to consider issues of ensuring access of developing countries to food resources, guarantees of adequate nutrition, as an inalienable human right.
Turkmenistan does not doubt the professionalism and competence of the World Health Organization and calls on the Non-Aligned Movement to provide political and moral support to the structure, follows from the speech of Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
In addition, for the harmonious growth of the economies of developing countries, the President spoke about Turkmenistan's readiness to start drafting a Resolution of the UN General Assembly "On increasing the role of landlocked developing countries in the development and strengthening of global transport cooperation." This document will have to show the significance of the problems of entire regions.
In this regard, Ashgabat counts on the support of the Non-Aligned States and expects constructive proposals and recommendations from all sides in this regard.
