Turkmenistan is preparing for a dialogue with the UN Human Rights Committee


As part of the preparation of the delegation of Turkmenistan for a constructive dialogue with the UN Human Rights Committee, UNDP and the Regional Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) for Central Asia held a methodological seminar, according to a UNDP press release.
Former member of the UN Human Rights Committee Gentian Zeberi facilitated technical consultations with members of the government delegation of Turkmenistan.
During the Constructive Dialogue, Turkmenistan will provide information on the implementation of the final recommendations adopted by the UN Human Rights Committee following the discussions held in 2017 on the implementation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR).
The UN Human Rights Committee is a body of independent experts that monitors the implementation by States parties of their obligations under the ICCPR.
