The headquarters of the CIS observer mission for the parliamentary elections in Turkmenistan will open on March 8


On March 8, the headquarters of the observer mission from the Commonwealth of Independent States for the elections of deputies of the Turkmen parliament will open in Turkmenistan, CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev said, the website of the Executive Committee of the organization reports.
"Parliamentary elections in Turkmenistan will be held on March 26. And on March 8, we will open the headquarters of the observation mission in Ashgabat," Lebedev said.
He added that over the past 20 years, CIS observer missions have conducted 119 monitorings in the CIS countries for presidential and parliamentary elections, as well as referendums.
On Tuesday, February 28 registration of candidates for the election of deputies of parliament finished in Turkmenistan, in which members of regional, district and city bodies of local representative government and local self-government took part. 14 thousand 872 candidates have been registered.
