Government of Afghanistan announced a new National Food and Nutrition Program
Prime Minister of Afghanistan Abdullah Abdullah spoke recently of the need to develop a National Program for Food and Nutrition.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation of the IRA stressed that it is necessary to increase investments in agriculture to make this program effective.
The representative of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization in Afghanistan, Tomio Shichiri, expressed support for the principles of the new program.
Turkmenistan, following the centuries-old traditions of good-neighborliness, provides significant assistance to the fraternal country by sending humanitarian supplies to Afghanistan regularly, including flour, cereals and confectionery products, grain and products of oil and fat industries.
In addition, Turkmenistan exports necessary mineral fertilizers for agriculture, as well as oil products and liquefied gas to Afghanistan. The most important aid for the social and economic development of this country is the Turkmen electricity, supplied at reduced prices.
The second Turkmen store in Afghanistan was opened in Mazar-i-Sharif this year, where buyers are offered a large choice of textile and food goods produced in Turkmenistan.
