The fight of the Turkmen boxer in the Russian promotion ended in a draw


The fight between the Turkmen boxer Ikhtiyar Masharipov and the representative of Russia Sergey Makedon ended in a technical draw. The fight took place on February 17 as part of the Pravda Old School Boxing tournament in Moscow.
The super middleweight fight, scheduled for four rounds, ended in the third.
For both boxers, the fight became a debut at the international professional level.

In the first round, Masharipov seized the advantage by controlling the distance. In the second three-minute period, the Turkmen boxer continued the fight in an active manner, scoring several hits.
The third round was held in an equal fight, but thirty seconds before it ended, the boxers collided heads. As a result, the Russian fighter was seriously injured and the fight was stopped at the insistence of doctors.

After a short discussion, the refereeing team declared the result of the fight a technical draw.
Ikhtiyar Masharipov is a native of the Dashoguz velayat. The 28-year-old boxer is a student at the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Education and Sports. The last sporting achievement of the candidate for master of sports was the bronze medal of the Cup of Turkmenistan-2022 in boxing.

His opponent is Sergei Makedon, a 32-year-old athlete from Russia. He has the status of CCM in boxing, and is also a master of sports in karate.
Pravda Fighting Championship is a Russian promotion launched in 2021. As part of the tournament, both boxing fights and mixed martial arts fights are held.
