Qatari sheikh wants to buy Manchester United


Sheikh Hamad bin Jasim bin Jaber Al Thani has submitted an application for the acquisition of Manchester United football club, Tengrinews reports.
"Sheikh Hamad bin Jasim bin Jaber Al Thani today confirmed that he has submitted an application for the acquisition of 100 percent of the shares of Manchester United football club. He plans to return the club to its former glory both on and off the field and, above all, to make sure that the fans are again in the center of the football club," the sheikh's consortium said in a statement.
The former Prime Minister of Qatar, the head of the board of the largest Islamic bank in the Persian Gulf, Qatar Islamic Bank, offered a record 4.5 billion euros for Glazers.
The Sheikh Nine Two Foundation will invest in the club's football teams, training facilities and wider infrastructure, as well as in the communities that the club supports.
Sheikh Hamad bin Jasim bin Jaber Al Thani has been a Manchester United fan since he was 10 years old.
